  • Our Team

    Fred Sterenberg, CPA, CMA
Fred was born on April 15, 1949 in Sandwich, Illinois. He grew up and graduated from high school in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Upon graduation from high school he moved to California and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelors degree in Economics. After two years working at a financial institution and another two years working as a dealer representative for Union Oil of California, he decided to enlist in the United States Army with the idea of earning the great educational benefits. As it turned out, Fred was selected for Officers’ Candidate School and went on to spend another 10 years serving his country. He served in many responsible line and staff positions, culminating in successfully commanding a 350-soldier forward deployed combat arms unit.

After his honorable discharge he used his GI Bill benefits to pursue a secondary degree in Accounting. Fred passed the CPA exam and worked briefly for a Certified Public Accounting firm in Carmel, California before joining Allen Funt Productions as its Controller. When Candid Camera, Inc. was formed as a spin-off corporation, he became the Secretary/Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer.

After 13 years of managing the family and business financial affairs for the Funt family, he decided to open his own Certified Public Accounting practice. Always passionate with respect to learning, Fred has completed half of the units required toward a Master of Science in Taxation.

Fred is married and enjoys playing with his two cats, working out and reading.
